The Quetzal draws its name from Guatemala’s national bird - a symbol of freedom, beauty, and cultural pride. Revered in Maya mythology, the resplendent Quetzal was known for its vibrant plumage, a sign of life, light, and creation. Its feathers were cherished and used in ceremonial clothing and headdresses, carrying stories of heritage through every color and every movement.
Inspired by this spirit, our Quetzal belt brings that same vibrancy to life. The embroidery is woven in a joyful palette of red, yellow, green, purple, blue, orange, pink, teal, and white - a celebration of the bird’s brilliance and the artistry of the hands who craft each piece.
The textile is handwoven on a traditional Guatemalan backstrap loom and paired with premium vegetable-tanned leather, finished with a hand-laced edge. No two belts are ever exactly alike - a small variation here or there, telling its own little story through the hands of it's maker. Our belts soften and shape to your waist over time, made for every day and every body.
